For classical school, he scored 94% reading and 88% math.
For regional gifted center he scored 135.
I'm truly pleased and proud of him for all that's he's accomplished for someone with a rough start in life and for who English wasn't their first language. Stay tuned as the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc round letters will go out in the coming weeks and months. I'm pretty sure he's done well enough to get an offer letter in a subsequent round.
But you may be asking how will that translate to academic performance once the school year starts? Is not getting a high score a good indicator of things to come and ability to keep up? Well, I don't think so!!!!! He's very bright and capable of excelling. He loves school and reading. But clearly we've gotta work on those math skills some.
Luckily, we have an excellent neighborhood school that he can go to if he doesn't get an offer for one of the accelerated programs.
