Yeah Nati

A few weeks ago one of Nati's classmates was moved from his class to the one for 3 1/2 year old although she just turned 3. She was much taller than the other kids and her language was more developed. But I figured he's only been speaking English a few months. He'll get there when he's been here for 6 months. But in the mean time, I'm been doing what the early childhood assessor suggested: making his vocabulary more sophisticated. And I've been trying to institute a sticker chore and reward system. Today, the director of his day care mentioned that she thinks he's ready to go to the older kids room in a few months. As for his vocabulary, she thinks it'll accelerate it when he gets with the bigger kids.

In addition, another one of his kids in his classroom has a scooter. He's younger than Nati. I had been resisting the scooter til he was about 5. But all the kids on the playground have one. He tried to ride the scooter of the boy on the playground that was 3. The boy's Dad said he was doing a good job for his first attempt. Maybe he was being nice or maybe he's really ready. Can I mention again his classmate is younger than he is and has a scooter. I'm so competitive.

I'm not going to be one of those hovering Moms. Or one that pushes him into competitive situations. But I'm competitive and he's getting a scooter later today.

Great job with the sticker chart system for language! He's moving quite fast...I think we have a genius on our hands.
